Buddies!!

We LOVE our 2nd Grade Buddies!  We meet with our buddies once a month to help with a variety of projects. On 10/13 we read about bats, and watched a video, then we created a bat project using the facts we had learned. :)

Veteran's Day

11/11- 5th Grade was fortunate enough to have Grayson's aunt, Krystal, come in and speak with us on Veteran's Day.  She told us about her experiences and answered many of our questions! Even mine... "Why is the American Flag facing the opposite way on army uniforms?" I had been wondering that for a while, and the answer made perfect sense. ;) Thank you Krystal for your service, and thank you to all other past, present, and future veterans!

Taxi Ride

Our classroom had a lucky winner of a "Taxi Ride" down to lunch... brought to you by Mr. Sufka! Too much fun!  Congratulations Yesica! :)

FALL in Love With 5th Grade

I hope you were able to check out our latest 5th Grade project!  This interactive board allows anyone with a QR Code scanner to find out who fell in love with 5th Grade.  Students wrote about what their favorite part of 5th Grade has been so far, but didn't sign their name, They then took a selfie and created a QR Code to attach to their leaf. To make sure we had a lot of color each class was assigned a specific colored leaf. Our class was green!  :)

Research and Writing

11/13- These students actually look EXCITED about researching planets and writing an informative paragraph! (point for the teacher, haha)

N.E.W Water Presentation

Taking some weekend time to FINALLY update our blog and get these amazing pictures posted!
On October 6th, we were extremely lucky to welcome a speaker from N.E.W Water (Green Bay's Waste Water Treatment Plant).  The students learned a TON about water, and the process of cleaning it; they even created their very own water filters. Check out the pictures below to see all of the fun!

5th Grade Challenge

On Friday, October 2 all of our 5th Graders competed in their second 5th Grade Challenge.  This months challenge was the Red Solo Cup Challenge. Students had to work in a team, using only their tool (string tied to a rubber band) and move the cups into the shape of a pyramid. It was a whole lot harder than it looked, especially at first.  Check out the video to see the results below!  ENJOY!
